Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 16, 2026
1. Overview
EnvelopeTrace (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates envelopetrace.com (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the Service:
- Mailing addresses — the return address and recipient address you enter when creating an envelope.
- Email address — optionally provided to receive your tracking link. We do not require an email to use the Service.
- Tracking data — USPS scan events associated with your envelope's barcode, provided by USPS Informed Visibility.
- Usage data — standard server logs and anonymized analytics (page views, general usage patterns). We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
3. How we use your information
- To generate your envelope PDF and tracking barcode.
- To display tracking updates on your envelope's tracking page.
- To send your tracking link if you provided an email address.
- To improve the reliability and performance of the Service.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data retention
Envelope records and associated tracking data are retained to provide the Service. Mailing addresses are stored as part of the envelope record. If you would like your data deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it promptly.
5. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Vercel — hosting and infrastructure.
- Supabase — database storage.
- USPS Informed Visibility — mail tracking data.
- Vercel Analytics — anonymized page view analytics.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to avoid entering sensitive personal information beyond what is required for mailing purposes.
7. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
